Higher Dollar Value Invoice Policy

AUSSIE SMOKE ALARMS understands & respects the role a property manager has in transferring information to a property owner.

It is a Standard Operating Procedure of AUSSIE SMOKE ALARMS to contact the Property Manager from site, if an impending invoice will have a total value of $99 or greater.

This phone call will then immediately be followed, via email, an explanation stating why the specific work is required & a quoted cost.

This must be done by the technician for 3 reasons:

1.    It supplies the property manager the necessary information to then be relayed to the owner.

2.    It justifies why the invoice value is $99 or greater.

3.    It also provides a comprehensive record of events & communication.

NO WORK WILL BE CONTINUED, UNTIL EITHER THE PROPERTY MANAGER HAS;

  • CONFIRMED VERBALLY OR IN WRITING TO PROCEED.
  • A NEW MAINTENANCE ORDER IS RECEIVED BY AUSSIE SMOKE ALARMS, SPECIFIC TO THAT WORK.

SMOKE ALARM INFORMATION RECORDING POLICY.

It is a Standard Operating Procedure of AUSSIE SMOKE ALARMS to detail & record information of each smoke alarm required by law, in a property.

AUSSIE SMOKE ALARMS attends the property on behalf of the Property Owner, to ensure that their responsibility & obligations are met in accordance with both the Fire & Rescue Amendment Act of 2006 & the Building Code of Australia Spec 2.2a.

 AUSSIE SMOKE ALARMS will only service & maintain smoke alarms required by law in the property.

 If more smoke alarms, other than the required by law, are discovered, they will be noted on the Compliance Certificate as sited but not inspected.

 Whilst conducting the comprehensive 12 POINT SERVICE CRITERIA, the technician will note & record on the TAX INVOICE/COMPLIANCE CERTIFICATE;

  • Number of smoke alarms in the property.

  • Age, manufactured date or expiry date of the required smoke alarms.

  • Means of power for the required smoke alarms.

  • Location of required smoke alarms.

  • Type of dwelling.

If a smoke alarm presents an expiry date within the 12 months of registration with AUSSIE SMOKE ALARMS, the property manager will be advised in writing suggesting a course of action to remove & replace the smoke alarm.

This information will be included on the AUSSIE SMOKE ALARMS Log of Properties Data Base.
